Feeding Therapy


What is treated in Feeding Therapy?

  • Oral-motor weakness

  • Decreased sensation or awareness in the mouth

  • Difficulties chewing

  • Bottle, straw, or cup use

  • Challenging mealtime behaviors

  • Excessive drooling

  • Mild - severe pediatric dysphagia (difficulties swallowing)

  • G-tube transitioning

  • Picky eating

  • A 60 minute comprehensive evaluation consisting of a parent interview, case history review, formal testing, oral motor exam, and a mealtime observation.

  • If therapy is recommended, home or school-based 30-45 minute individualized therapy sessions 1-2x per week will be completed.

  • Communication and engagement with the parents, caregivers, and/or other professionals in your child’s daily life will be provided to ensure carryover and progression of skills.
